Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sports Broadcasting Academy with Dave Rothenberg ("we," "us," or "the Academy") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through rothenberg-broadcast-academy.com and related services. It is written to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and to address rights available under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Information we collect
The categories of personal information we may collect from visitors and enrollees include:
- Identifiers — full name, email address, and (optionally) phone number provided through our signup form.
- Commercial / payment information — tuition payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; Stripe returns a transaction identifier and limited billing metadata.
- Internet activity — IP address, user-agent string, referrer, and timestamps captured in our consent log and standard server access logs for security, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping.
- Scheduling information — if you book a discovery call via our embedded Calendly widget, Calendly collects the information you submit on that form.
- Cookies and similar technologies — only after you affirmatively accept analytics in our cookie notice. The site itself sets no advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To process your enrollment and collect tuition.
- To record your acceptance of the Participant Agreement.
- To send transactional emails about your enrollment, schedule, and assignments.
- To answer scheduling and customer-service questions when you contact us.
- To improve the website and curriculum through aggregated, privacy-preserving analytics — only if you consent.
- To detect and prevent fraud and to comply with legal obligations.
Third parties we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Academy. We do not sell personal information.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Calendly — scheduling for discovery calls.
- Supabase — database storage for enrollment and consent records.
- Vercel — website hosting and request logs.
- PostHog — product analytics. Loaded only if you affirmatively accept the cookie notice. When enabled, PostHog collects device and browser identifiers (including a randomly generated anonymous ID), page views, button clicks and similar interaction events, and approximate location derived from your IP address (typically city-level). Session replay is not enabled, so we do not record your screen, mouse movements, keystrokes, or form inputs.
Reviewing or correcting your information
You may request to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@rothenberg-broadcast-academy.com. We will respond within 45 days. Some records (for example, completed payment records and signed waivers) must be retained to comply with tax and contract law.
Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track. When your browser sends a DNT signal, we will not load product analytics that use cookies, and your choice is recorded automatically — you will not see the cookie notice.
California rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you.
- Request a copy of that information in a portable format.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may confirm this in writing on request.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code §1798.83) entitles California residents to request, once per year, a list of third parties to whom we have disclosed personal information for direct-marketing purposes. We do not currently share personal information with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@rothenberg-broadcast-academy.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request."
Children's privacy
The Academy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes to this policy at the top of this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
